Digital printing has been one of the fastest growing printing industry segments of the last few years and the technology has developed at a rapid pace opening up many new opportunities. Odyssey Digital Printing started in business in 1996 with a Xeikon printer and has used Xeikon technology since. We have four Xeikons, two duplex presses, a 5000 and a 50D, and two simplex presses, our latest, the new 3300, and a 50SP.
The Xeikon 5000 is a web fed press that utilizes Xeikon’s patented One Pass Duplex system to print on both sides of the sheet simultaneously with the latest in toner technology, FA, or form adapted, toner. The FA toner is specially made to give the best in color fidelity, color fastness, smooth gradients and image sharpness. The 5000 uses true 600 x 600 dpi LED arrays with 4 bit variable dot density to print at up to 170 lpi. From newsprint to paperboard, the Xeikon 5000 handles a wide range of media weights. Synthetic media and label stock complement a wide range of coated and uncoated paper and paperboard.
